District 107 Broken Promises

“The short memories of the American voters is what keeps our politicians in office.”

- Will Rogers

District 107’s State Representative, Allen Vaught, has been working hard in Austin. He is concerned about our neighborhood schools, and he promised he would do many, many things to improve the public schools in our district.

For starters, he filed a series of bills.

I know. I’m scratching my head, too.

The Texas Parent PAC seems to be running their public school agenda through some of their other favorite state reps.

That doesn’t change the fact that Allen Vaught campaigned heavily on improving District 107 public schools.

I would like to invite Representative Vaught to come to Truett Elementary and explain to the kids and families how he has made things better in his second term representing us.

Explain to Truett, which is beyond capacity by over 700 kids, how the above bills demonstrate the proactive solutions he promised our district schools.

To be fair, Representative Vaught did co-author one school bill. HB130 would provide full-day preschool using community providersprivate schools.

A voucher bill co-authored by Representative Vaught, while we have this from Vaught’s own website:

“Ensuring that Texas children have access to quality public schools is my top priority.  Private school vouchers drain money away from public schools.  Thursday night, more than four-fifths of the House agreed that the way to have the best public schools is not to rob them but to invest in them,” concluded Rep. Vaught.”

Slicker than snot on a doorknob.

  1. A flipflopper at its worst. This is exactly why I consider myself an independent. Don’t like all of the party platforms on either side of the aisle. I like some things from both parties. And trust me, this crap about no vouchers is one thing I do hate about the platform of the left.
